Move it Mama was founded by Lisa in February 2018. With four boys under five, Lisa was doing short, high intensity workouts from home, and then began to share them. Regular exercise reclaimed Lisa’s sparkle. Through exercise, she rebuilt herself both physically and mentally.

After sharing her workouts with close friends, Lisa (Leece) built a community. Move it Mama is now an amazingly uplifting community connected through exercise.

What was initially four high intensity (HIIT) workouts with Leece each week, is now a variety of workouts, from beginner bodyweight to strength, HIIT, boxing, pilates and more.

Move it Mama is now a team of seven, and with so much variety available, the Move it Mama app has a workout suitable to just about anyone.

In May 2024, Lisa’s husband was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer. This has meant a huge shift to their lives, but despite the situation Leece continues to lead workouts.

After years of building and dreaming, the Move it Mama platform is now a custom mobile and web-app.

I’m passionate about teaching people that a healthy life doesn’t need to be all consuming. I thrive off helping the Move it Mama community live a happier life, and especially empowering pregnant and postpartum women to safely exercise. I’m a REPs registered personal trainer and am also pre and post natal qualified (Fitness Australia, NZIHF, Burrell Education UK).

After years of gym memberships, I’ve gone cold turkey and my only membership is with Move it Mama! I’m a sucker for endorphins and it gives me so much joy to help others feel the best they can. I’m a sports fanatic and love to share my passion for fitness with our community. Having worked years in sport, I’m inspired by sports people daily, and in turn I love to inspire the Move it Mama community to chase their own fitness goals.

Kia ora, I’m Natalia, māmā of three, lover of movement, and passionate about living a life grounded in hauora. (health). Once upon a time I was an army medic; these days, I’m fully immersed in the beautiful rhythm of whānau life – raising my tamariki, running our whānau kombucha business Mauriora, and carving out space to move for my mind, body and wairua (spirit). My aim for my workouts is to be uplifting and empowering, reminding us of our own power while weaving te reo Māori throughout. In te Ao Māori, everything is connected - wairua (spiritual), hinengaro (mental) and tinana (physical). Movement for me is about energy, joy, and remembering who we are. Mauri tū, mauri ora – always.

Sarah (Geraldine, NZ)

I’m Sarah, mum to Stanley, an adventure seeking, limit pushing, spunky little man, and Sophia who was only able to stay with us for 50 min, before she was given her set of wings to head off on a greater adventure.
Exercise has been my go-to; the best outlet in navigating my grief and working through tough days. It’s made me not just fitter and stronger, but a much better mum, wife, daughter, sister and friend. Passionate about helping others feel their best, I’m loving being back in the fitness industry after an extended break from Personal Training.

I’m a science nerd and a lifelong student of life, yoga, mental and holistic health, and love helping people thrive in body and mind. I love learning and variation in my life; you’ll see this trickle into my classes. I've completed 700+ hours of yoga teacher training in India and NZ, & run an online and in-person yoga business in the King Country. To me, practicing and teaching yoga is about creating space to move out of the monkey mind, stress management, connection to self and community, nervous system nourishment, resilience, being playful, self awareness, listening to our bodies and giving ourselves permission to slow down. I love bringing real life struggles to our mats and shedding yoga wisdom. I now also love to get the muscles burning in my pilates classes, taught every Thursday inside the app.
